Eyes are the "windows to the soul", and the point on the puppet where the audience will focus most of their attention when trying to interpret a characters emotions and thought processes, so it is important to give the eyes special consideration.

Eyes can be as simple as black map pins, white drawing pins with a black plasticine pupil added, dolls eyes or white plastic spheres with a floating pupil.
